Come Winter Hammock Camping With Me

This year I bought snow tires for my EV, and I'm glad I had them for this trip - some roads weren't plowed. Although the -9°C / 14°F night wasn't my lowest ever, I still needed two stacked hammock quilts to stay warm. I set up camp in the Nordhouse Dunes Wilderness Area in the Manistee National Forest and was treated to an unusually calm Lake Michigan sunset on the first day.

The next morning I woke up to a light dusting of fresh snow, cloudy skies, and wind. Winter calm on Lake Michigan never lasts long.
